Our Timeline
Architecture Student
I started architecture without having a very clear understanding of what it means to study architecture. The first years were terrible for me. It was so difficult to adapt to the new academic culture. The toxicity I found in architecture school made me hate it. The fact that I was graded in comparison to other students, the grind culture, the deterioration of my physical and mental health all made me hate architecture more and more day after day.
When we started learning different architectural styles in history, the videos I watched ignited my passion for architecture for the first time. I enjoyed seeing how the culture and history influenced architecture, how in every different culture, in each different century, the architecture reflected certain values, beliefs, and ideologies. This made me realize that the internet if used right, could benefit so many students. I started to depend on it for my main source of inspiration, information, and research.
Launching ArchStudios
It came to me that if it wasn’t for the Photoshop Masterclass Course I took online, I wouldn’t have learned how to use this program at all. All the program courses at university were fostering a culture of competitiveness which ruined our chances to properly learn the program. I decided to plan and design a Beginners’ Photoshop course for architecture students specifically.
A Helping Hand
As I decided to hold a second round for the Photoshop course, I thought whi not create an Instagram account where I create content tailored for architecture students in Egypt. I realized there are so many of those accounts all across the world, but there aren’t any in Egypt. The architecture students in EEgypt needed to be united within a community where ideas are shared, feedback is given, and relationships are made.
Crash Courses for Architecture Students
After holding 4 courses in the past year, the beginning of 2023 witnessed our biggest Courses Program yet. This winter break saw 6 different courses being held in the span of 2 weeks for all architecture students who want to work on strengthening their software skills during vacations. Those courses included Rhino, Revit, Lumion, Corona on 3ds Max, Photoshop, and InDesign. The courses took the attendees from a beginner level to an intermediate level with the aim of familiarizing the students with the program while making it fun and interactive as much as possible.
After successfully completing more than 10 online crash courses in 9 different programs, and helping more than 150 students become familiar with those software programs.. we can proudly say we’re one step closer to our aim. Always thinking out of the box to provide the help needed for your past, present, and future.
