Revit for 3D Modeling and Technical Drawings

About Course
Instead of wasting your time going back and forth between different 2D and 3D software programs, using Revit helps architecture students and graduates create a more efficient workflow. Imagine investing your time creating a 3D model and then automatically extracting from it detailed plans, sections, elevations, and isometric drawings.
This course will help you understand the importance of using BIM and Revit in projects and why Revit is one of the most essential software programs being used in the majority of offices and companies in Egypt.
Course Outline:
- Overview of Building Information Modeling
- Introduction to Revit: interface and navigation
- understanding Revit main elements (projects, families, templates)
- creating basic elements: walls, floors, roofs
- Adding and importing doors, windows, components
- Using advanced modelling tools: curtain walls, ramps, stairs
- Generating 2D drawing set including plans, elevations, sections and detailed sections
- Adding annotations, room tags and dimensions
What You’ll Learn
- A theoretical explanation of BIM and the importance of using Revit
- Using different elements to create a detailed 3D model such as windows, curtain walls, stairs etc.
- How to extract different detailed drawings (plans, sections…etc) from the 3D Model
- How to create technical working drawings with axis, dimensions, tags, and annotations
- Generating sheets, schedules and exporting a full set of 2D drawings
- Creating exploded diagrams and sectional diagrams from the 3D Model
